Minor Hockey Roundup: U13AA Hounds win lone contest of weekend

The Medicine Hat Hounds U13AA took care of business over the weekend, winning their only game.

The Hounds beat the Foothills Bisons 3-2 on Saturday. Diesel Bishop, Lincoln Steinkey and Kovann Chisholm each scored, and Hudson Gilchrist registered two assists. Hunter Munro made 26 saves in the win.

The U13AA Hounds (12-6-1) hit the road this weekend.

U15

The U15AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers split their two-game slate over the weekend.

The Tigers won 6-3 Friday over the Calgary Royals and lost 4-3 in overtime to the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday.

Arlo Heal scored twice in Saturday’s win with Carson Ward and Rhyder Arnold each adding a goal and an assist. Logan Neuls and Liam Green each scoring a goal. Paxton Smigelski made 33 saves.

Vann Boiteau, Arnold and Madden Wright each scored in Sunday’s loss with Sasha Shushkov making 26 saves in 62:10 of action.

The U15AA Tigers (3-9-2) have two road games this weekend.

U16

The U16AA Hounds lost their lone game of the weekend, falling 5-2 to the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday.

Jaxon Bohrn and Mavric Ward each scored and Kayden Van Ham made 35 saves.

The Hounds (3-11-1) have two road games this weekend.

U17

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers swept their weekend, beating the Lloydminster Rohan Lancers 6-1 on Friday and topping the Grande Peace Storm 7-1 on Saturday.

Randen Collier and Ryker Watson each scored two goals, Grady Ford added a goal and an assist and Parker Kienzle had a goal of his own. Kolter Gans made 18 saves in the win.

Davin Torgerson led the offence Saturday with two goals and two assists. Nixon Kunkel added two goals, and both Elijah Fleck and Treyden Kleinknecht each had a goal and an assist. Karter Kurpjuweit potted a goal and Kayne Wright made 16 saves.

The U17AAA Tigers (10-6) have two games this weekend, hosting the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers at the Hockey Hounds arena on Sunday.

U18

The U18AA Hounds had two games over the weekend, falling 3-1 to the East Kootenay Avalanche on Saturday.

Quade VanderSpruit scored and Adam Ranger made 32 saves in the loss. The Hounds faced the Avalanche in a rematch Sunday, those results were not posted.

The U18AA Hounds (3-7-4) have two games this weekend, hosting the NWCAA Stamps on Saturday at the Kinplex.
