Cubs sweep weekend for three-game winning streak

The Medicine Hat Cubs had another winning weekend, doing so in shutout fashion.

The Cubs swept their weekend slate, with a 7-0 shutout win Friday at the Kinplex over the Red Deer Vipers, then blanking the High River Flyers 3-0 on the road Saturday.

Caleb Garrecht led Medicine Hat’s offence Friday with a goal and two assists. Jacob Hazzard had a goal and an assist, and all of Owen Wagner, Darnell Glasgo, Kyle Woolridge, Makhi Carriere and Gerret Harty scored. Tyler Wakelam made 20 saves for the shutout.

Glasgo led the offence in Saturday’s win with a goal and an assist. Josh Drefs and Woolridge notched a goal and Dominik Jagielski made 24 saves.

The Cubs (12-2-1) are on the road this weekend to face the South division-leading Okotoks Bisons on Friday and the Mountainview Colts on Saturday.
