The two local high school senior teams get set to host their respective Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association provincial playoff games on Saturday. The Hawks host the Holy Trinity Academy Knights in the Tier II Southern semi-finals for a 2:30 p.m. contest at the Methanex bowl. Medicine Hat captured the South Zone Tier II title last weekend with a 46-0 win over the Catholic Central Cougars. The Knights and Hawks have played each other in both the non-conference preseason and in provincials the past three seasons, with Holy Trinity Academy holding a 5-1 advantage. The Vikings will open the day’s slate of football hosting the Stettler Wildcats at Noon in the Tier III Southern semi-finals. Both teams faced off two seasons ago with the Vikings wining at home 20-2 over the visiting Wildcats. 7
