A Medicine Hat basketball player returned from the Alberta Summer Games this weekend with a slightly heavier neck.
Zach Moran was Medicine Hat’s lone basketball representative at the provincial games held at Okotoks over the weekend, winning a silver medal on the South Zone boys basketball team. On top of being the lone Hat basketball player participating, Moran was also the youngest player on the boys side at 12-years-old.
The South Zone’s silver win over the weekend was the first time they have medaled at the Summer Games. The South beat Edmonton to get to the final by a score of 87-82 before ultimately losing to the North East Zone (Fort McMurray-Lloydminster area) in the championship game.
