The Colts overcame a 5-0 deficit for an 8-5 win over the Medicine Hat High JV Hawks at McCoy field. Ryan Ziebart started on the mound for the JV Colts with Pryce Velichko the starting pitcher for the JV Hawks. The two were locked in a pitching duel as the score was 0-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth when the Hawks scored five runs. McCoy responded with one run in the top of the fifth inning and seven more in the top of the sixth for their comeback lead. Asha Frey pitched 3.1 shutout innings in relief to earn the win while striking out seven Hawks batters. The JV Colts offence was led by Liam Cunningham who went 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Merrick Kurpjuweit chipped in with two hits, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Offensively for the Hawks, Mason Heintz had two hits with an RBI. The JV Colts have a 3-0 record to start the year. They return to action on Monday when they host the Eagle Butte JV Talons at 5:30 p.m. at Jeffries Field. 8
