The Medicine Hat Boxing Club stood their ground at a bout in Calgary over the weekend.
The local boxing club attended the Golden Gloves event in Calgary, with three fighters entering the ring.
Nate Vossler lost a close split decision to Sonny Meredith from Vancouver in the 57 kg. Open Jr. C division
Jacob Walne defeated Ivan Pasztor from Calgary Olympus Club by unanimous decision in the Jr.B open 54 kg. division to win the Golden Gloves title.
Asher Softic protected his no loss record, by defeating Ami Elrafih from Dynamite Calgary in the 75 Kg. novice Jr. B division. The match was stopped in the second round by the referee, Softic improved his record to 5-0 with 4 stoppages.
The next action for the Medicine Hat Boxing Club is the YYC Cup, on May 4-7 in Calgary.
