Medicine Hat boxers Sam Schick, Jacob Walne and Nate Vossler pose with their awards from the boxing show in Havre, Mont.
The Medicine Hat Boxing Club showcased its skill in Havre, Mont. this past weekend.
Jacob Walne of MHBC lost a close decision to Roman Love from Billings Elite in the Jr.B 100 lb. division. Coach Kerry Fahlman says Walne boxed the best he ever had and dominated, only to get the loss. Walne was the eventual most sportsmanlike of the night winner.
Nate Vossler also put on his best performance ever, according to Fahlman, to defeat Wendell Haakanson from the Nakoda Fight Team in the Jr.C 120 lb. division.
Sam Schick boxed Montana State champion Buster Carferro and lost a close decision but went toe-to-toe for three rounds.
Schick has boxoffs next weekend to make Team Alberta for the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, P.E.I. The MHBC will also have Porter Ostrowski boxing off to make the team, and Fahlman will be going as an Alberta coach.
