Medicine Hat lawn bowling hosts provincial tournament

Some of the province’s top lawn bowlers competed in Medicine Hat last weekend.

The Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club hosted its Medicine Hat Memorial Triples Tournament last Saturday and Sunday. The Bowls Alberta sanctioned provincial tournament had six teams from three different clubs participating from Medicine Hat, Edmonton and Lethbridge.

Richard Turner, Thelma Melnichuk and Katherine Kerr from the Highlands Lawn Bowling Club in Edmonton won the ‘A’ finals against the Medicine Hat LBC team of Barb Moll, Curt Moll and Eric Moll by a score of 9-5.

Medicine Hat’s Wes Bresee, Mike Gilchrist and Jean Bresee won the ‘B’ finals by defeating Bill Black, Ann Black and Sandra Angell from the Highlands LBC 5-4.

Scott Packer, Esther Rodzinyak and Robert Rodzinyak from Lethbridge beat Linda Bower, Frank Buck and Joyce-Ann Bacon from Medicine Hat 10-1 to take the ‘C’ finals.
