Ryan Hodgins and Becky Martin are the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club champions for another year. For the second straight year, Hodgins shot a weekend-low 69 on Sunday to clinch the club title, beating out runner-up Nolan Burzminski by a six-stroke edge. After tying with Jesse Florkowski on Saturday with a round of 72, Hodgins took over the leaderboard on Sunday to close out his weekend at 72-69-141. Burzminski opened his weekend with a 73 to finish 147, with Mitch Kurtz shooting 73-74-147 to tie for second place. Florkowski was in third with a Sunday score of 79, putting him at 151 on the weekend. Martin shot an 82-68-150 to take home the ladies championship for the second straight year. Sharla Butler finished second with 94-93-187. Kelly Risling won the senior men’s title with a 74-74-148, only two days after winning the Alberta senior men’s championship. Perry Rasmussen and Warren Gnam finished tied for second with Rasmussen shooting 74-77-151 and Gnam putting up 75-76-151. Jean Nitchke won the senior ladies title for her second straight year, with a 87-86-173, followed by Sherry Fischer at 88-96-184 and Carol Kavanaugh’s 98-86-184. Emma Hodgins won the junior title while shooting 84-89-173, with RJ Reimer finishing second at 107-114-221. 9
