Hiebs top two in Dean Wakshinsky Memorial race on Saturday

Two local racers topped the Medicine Hat Speedway’s Dean Wakshinsky Memorial on Saturday. Kevin and Marcus Hieb finished in first and second place respectively for the Dean Wakshinsky Award after Saturday’s race in honour the former Speedway driver. Jesse Voeller finished third overall on the event. Shane Goldie won the Rocky Mtn. Equipment Hobby Stocks race with Stephen Dumont finishing in second. Trevor and Les Neigum finished in first and second place, respectively, in the Davis GMC Elite Streets race. Kevin Hieb won the Just Smok’n Rumble Bees race with Levi Sergeant finishing in second place. Marcus Hieb finished in third. Dave Deschner won the Relay/SJ Trucking Baby Grands race as Ross Statham finished in second. Beryln McKay and Sebastian Beaupre finished in first and second place of the Gateway Trailer Repairs Cup Cars race. The Speedway’s next race is Aug. 27, the Bumper to Bumper (Action Parts) Race. 9-8
