The Medicine Hat Boxing Club was in action last weekend at the Alberta Silver Gloves tournament in Calgary.
The Medicine Hat Boxing Club took part in the Alberta Silver Gloves tournament last weekend in Calgary. The team took some losses but coach Kerry Fahlman said he was proud of everyone’s performance.
Medicine Hat’s Kade Linford defeated Dalyn Miller from Lethbridge and Mitch Heller defeated Jose Guardia from Golden Stars Calgary. Heller then lost in the final to Oleksander Ktutsukb from Edmonton Wolfhouse.
Hatter Nate Vossler lost to Djavan Mayer from Nelson B.C., Timur Kiriazis lost to Brandon Amaya from Lethbridge, Jacob Walne lost to R.J. Ford from Edmonton Wolfhouse, Terrance Ostrowski lost to Mitchell Rudy from Calgary Teofista and Porter Ostrowski lost to Dakota Smith from Lethbridge.
Hatter Sam Schick came back from a bad first round to defeat Wamana Fakuda from Nelson, B.C. Schick went on to win the award for best youth boxer of the tournament.
Their next action is in Edmonton on Jan. 29.
The Medicine Hat Boxing Club will also be hosting the provincial championships in the Gas City, Feb. 12-13.
