The Medicine Hat Impact U14B ringette team took back-to-back victories from the Strathmore Ice at home this weekend, 12-2 and 16-2.
Every player on Medicine Hat’s roster made it onto the scoresheet, including season-firsts for Rachel Rue and Sarah Laturnus.
The Impact will focus on practice for the next two weeks before returning to the Kinplex on Nov. 7 to host the South Calgary Karma.
U19B
The Medicine Hat U19B Mavens split a pair of close battles with the Northwest Calgary Odyssey at the Kinplex on Saturday, winning 6-3 before falling 5-4.
Serina Grona led the Mavens offence with two goals in the opening win, bolstered by individual tallies from Kylee Waldegger, Leah Mason, Claire MacFarlane and Raynah Gibney.
Grona and Gibney each added two more goals to keep Medicine Hat in the second game, but they were unable to complete a late comeback.
Affiliate goaltender Kyree Stern-Rebmann faced more than 80 shots over the two-game span.
The Mavens will be back in action Nov. 12-14 at the Ring of Fire Tournament in Airdrie.
U16B
The Medicine Hat Goal Diggers U16B squad settled for a split with the South Calgary Whiplash on Sunday at the Kinplex, winning 8-2 then dropping a 9-6 barnburner.
Medicine Hat took early command of the opening game, with Avery Weisgerber, Bella Heinrichs, and Jordan Weisgerber all scoring to build up a 3-1 lead at the half.
Kasey Martin, Grace Ammann, Alexis Unreiner, Brooklyn Schlenker and Mackenzie Tindall continued the offensive onslaught in the second, and Linsey Bechtold stopped 26 shots to secure the lopsided win.
But the Whiplash responded with a strong performance to close out the doubleheader, erasing a 5-3 halftime deficit to steal a victory from the Goal Diggers.
Tindall and Jordan Weisgerber led Medicine Hat with two goals and an assist each, while Kasey Martin and Rileigh Tabor chipped in to round out the scoring.
Bechtold stopped 29 shots in the loss.
The Goal Diggers return to the ice Saturday to host South Calgary at the Kinplex, starting at 12:30 p.m.
