Tigers mourn passing of Dean McArthur

By Medicine Hat News on November 20, 2020.

Former Medicine Hat Tigers alternate captain Dean McArthur passed away last Thursday at White Bear First Nation, Sask. He was 57 years old.

McArthur spent parts of three seasons with the Tigers from 1981-82 to 83-84. Over that span, the imposing right-winger registered 31 goals and 34 assists while racking up 195 penalty minutes in 136 games.

“Tigers fans will remember Dean as being one of the best body checkers in the league,” reads a release from the Tigers. “Dean will always be remembered as an incredible athlete and a stubborn, tough, hard-working and loving man.

“Our deepest condolences go out to Dean’s entire family.”
