While the rest of their athletic teams took part in a major fundraiser, the Medicine Hat College men’s basketball team wound up a three-game tournament in Idaho Saturday night.

The Rattlers fell 93-72 to North Idaho College, finishing 0-3 at the Coeur d’Alene Inn-vitational.

No statistics from the three games were available from the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference website, but according to the Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls Press, Jon Sappleton had 23 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the Saturday game. D’Shawn Tyrell had 18 points and Jaamel Slack 17.

The team also lost 100-90 Friday to Shoreline Community College and 87-69 Thursday to Grays Harbor College.

At 6-3 in their conference, the Rattlers return to the court in January for the second half of their season. They open 2019 with a home-and-home set against Lethbridge.

Meanwhile at the Snake Pit Saturday, the second annual Jingle and Mingle raised thousands of dollars for the Rattlers programs. A massive silent auction anchored the event, in which the gymnasium was transformed into a massive Christmas party.
