Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat College women’s volleyball team lost Friday at the hands of the SAIT Trojans at the Snakepit. The straight-sets loss (25-17, 25-22, 25-18) puts the Rattlers at a record of 6-5, and they have now lost two matches in a row. Amber Stigter led the way for the Rattlers with eight kills and five digs, while Janelle Neyron had four kills. Shaya Suchy had nine digs to lead MHC in that department. Jadyn Leong had 13 kills for the Trojans and Hayli Hinchey added 10 of her own. The Rattlers will look to rebound today at 6 p.m. on SAIT’s home court. Men The Rattlers men shared a similar fate Friday, falling in four sets to the Trojans at the Snakepit. KeAndre Evans led the way for MHC with 10 kills. Austyn Ducharme had 12 digs in the loss. The loss puts the Rattlers to a record of 6-5-1. They will also play Saturday at SAIT. Basketball The Medicine Hat College women’s Rattlers basketball team was able to win handily Friday against the St. Mary’s Lightning by a score of 66-47. Kiana Mintz led the way for the for the Rattlers with 16 points. Hayley LePard and Katelyn Rozdeba had eight rebounds each while Morgan Muir and Kendell Kuntz had two assists a piece. The win puts the Rattlers at a record of 8-1 on the year, and keeps them in sole possession of first place in the south division. Men The Rattlers men also walked away from St. Mary’s with a lopsided win of their own. The team took down the Lightning 82-44 and held St. Mary’s to just four points in the first quarter of play. The Rattlers now sit at 6-3 on the year. The men and women do not play for the rest of the weekend. 24
