Crescent Heights High School hosts the South Zone 3A high school volleyball tournament this weekend.

Crescent Heights is the place where the South Zone’s best 3A high school volleyball teams will determine who will advance to provincials.
Six girls and six boys teams begin play at 2:30 p.m. today to determine who will play another weekend.
Each draw will see both finalists advance to provincials, thanks to the South getting a wild card spot for both boys and girls.
On the girls side, league champion Eagle Butte faces the host Vikings in a 2:30 p.m. game while second seed McCoy plays Winston Churchill at the same time.
In boys play the home teams don’t see action until 3:45 p.m.
It’ll be a long Friday for all but four teams. The winners of the three-team round robin pools advance to Saturday semifinals, but the second- and third-place teams square off in best-of-five set quarter-finals later Friday night.
Both finals are set for 3 p.m. Saturday, where some of the pressure will be off since finalists will have a spot at provincials booked.
The Alberta 3A boys provincials are in Rocky Mountain House and the 3A girls go to Beaverlodge starting Nov. 22.
The 1A, 2A and 4A South Zone playoffs are in Lethbridge this weekend.
