Amanda Robinson of the Medicine Hat Mud Hens under-16 ringette team cuts in on goal during a Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 exhibition game against the under-14 AAs at the Kinplex.
Medicine Hat News
On one hand their opposition was younger.
But the Medicine Hat Mud Hens are considered an under-16 A team, whereas their opponents Saturday were under-14 AA.
In any case, it seemed the age gap was too much for the Hens’ Calgary opponents to overcome.
The home team won 16-3, then 9-7 in a pair of games to improve their league record to 7-0-1 on the season.
Amanda Robinson had three goals in the 16-3 game, while Ashlyn Seale and Jaida Wallis each had two to lead the way in the 9-7 decision.
Things won’t get any easier though, as the Mud Hens head on the road for two doubleheaders this weekend. They’re in Rolling Hills Saturday and Calgary Sunday.
Under-19
The under-19 Wild earned a split this past weekend.
In Carstairs on Sunday, they fell 9-1 to a Zone 2 under-16 AA team.
But they rebounded for a 7-2 win over the Northwest Heat.
