Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat College women’s basketball team couldn’t deal with Olds’ top player early and dropped its first game of the season, 84-81 to the Broncos Friday night. At Olds, the Rattlers trailed by 13 through 10 minutes according to the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference website. They were still down 14 with 3:59 to go before mounting a late charge. Time ran out before they could get a shot at the tie. American Brittney Thibeaux had 12 of her game-high 32 points in the big first quarter, adding 12 rebounds as Olds improved to 6-1. Thibeaux fouled out which led to Medicine Hat’s final push, led by a big offensive night from guard Morgan Muir (18 points, four steals. Kendell Kuntz led the Rattlers with 20 points and Katelyn Rozdeba nearly had a triple-double, scoring 15 points, garnering nine steals and nine rebounds. But they fell to 4-1. The Broncos outrebounded the Rattlers 53-33, getting 16 boards from Macyn Morning Bull and 11 from Alli Taylor. Medicine Hat stays on the road Saturday, heading to Red Deer to face the Queens. They finish the semester with three more road games in November.
