Medicine Hat News Medicine Hat’s horseshoe club held its annual tournament this past weekend with multiple division champions named both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Claresholm’s Lyle Olmstead took the top A event, while each of the other three events were won by hometown players. Vern Koenig won mixed B, Lloyd Doucette took mixed C and Vivian Fry was the mixed D victor. The story was similar on Sunday. Calgary’s Jane Cordingley wound up with the win in mixed A, then Medicine Hat’s Shirley Walsh (mixed B) and Don Anderson (mixed C) took the other wins. Scorekeepers Roy Roberts and Wilf Weimer plus a number of other volunteers made the weekend work seamlessly. 6
