Despite losing power Saturday night, the annual Lax to the Max tournament took place this weekend in the city, and it saw 26 teams from Western Canada competing in various age brackets.

Three local squads saw success at the event, with the B1 Sun Devils taking top spot in the bantam grouping, the N2 Sun Devils taking second in the novice age group and the midget Sun Devils also taking second.

The Cranbrook Outlaws took top spot in the midget and peewee age groups and Moose Jaw took first place in the novice bracket.

Power outages from a storm Saturday left roughly 6,700 Hatters without power, and it forced multiple games to be played Sunday morning.
