Medicine Hat News Medicine Hat’s Caleb Wyrostok was drafted into the WHL last week, and this week he’s one step closer to the Canada Winter Games. The local forward was among 80 named to Hockey Alberta’s under-16 summer camp in Camrose July 3-8, which is part of the selection process ahead of the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. Eight goalies, 24 defencemen and 48 forwards were on the list, including all four of last week’s Medicine Hat Tigers draftees who hail from the province. Defencemen Dru Krebs of Okotoks and Rhett Parsons of Cremona plus forwards Alex Walicki and Jayden Davis of Calgary also made the cut. Krebs was a second-round pick, Davis was picked in the third round, Parsons went in the fifth and Walicki in the seventh to the Tigers. Tigers assistant coach Bobby Fox is also listed as an associate coach for Team Alberta. Twenty players will eventually be named to the Alberta roster competing on home ice Feb. 15 to March 3, 2019 in Red Deer. 7
