The Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s futsal team defended their Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference title once again on Sunday at Lakeland College.

The Rattlers secured their fifth consecutive ACAC futsal gold medal with a 3-0 win over the Lethbridge Kodiaks in the championship game after going undefeated on their way to the final.

The Rattlers opened the tournament with a 4-3 win over Lethbridge Friday and followed it up with a 6-0 win over the Keyano Huskies and a 2-1 win over the Ambrose Lions before punching their ticket to the gold medal game with a 3-0 win over the King’s University Eagles in Sunday’s semifinals.

The Rattlers men’s futsal team wasn’t able to defend their gold medal from last year, but they still left with some hardware after defeating the Lakeland Rustlers 5-2 to win the bronze.

The Rattlers were handed a 6-5 defeat at the hands of the Keyano Huskies in the semifinals.

Medicine Hat opened the men’s tournament with a 2-0 loss to the Olds Broncos, but bounced back with a 7-3 win over the King’s University Eagles and a 9-2 victory over the Augustana Vikings to earn a place in the semifinal.
