The Medicine Hat Bulldogs Track and Field Club kicked off their season this weekend at Edmonton’s Golden Bear Open.

Madison Kane-Rissling landed on all three podium spots with gold in the under-20 girls high jump, silver in triple jump and bronze in long jump, while Elic Ayomanor took gold in both the under-16 boys 60-metre and the long jump. Ayomanor was hoping to have a chance at setting a new indoor provincial record in the under-16 boys triple jump, but an injury forced him out of the event, as well as the 200-metre.

Kiana Farrell also had her weekend cut short due to injury, leaving her out of the under-18 girls 200-metre, but she still managed a seventh-place finish in the 300-metre, 12th in the long jump and 13th in the 60-metre final.

Renae Ryan just missed the under-20 girls podium after finishing fourth in the 60-metre final and sixth in the 200-metre.
