Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat College Rattlers men’s volleyball team will aim to snap a two-game losing skid when they return to the court for tonight’s 8 p.m. matchup against the Trojans at SAIT College. The Rattlers (9-3) can tie the Trojans (10-2) for the top of the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference South Division standings with a victory tonight. What’s more, they have an opportunity to take over sole possession of first place with the home-and-home set shifting back to the Snake Pit Saturday night. Rattlers libero Kreggan Scharnatta leads Medicine Hat with 111 digs on the season, good enough for fifth in the ACAC. His average of 2.52 digs per set is fifth best in the Conference. Right side Vitor Pereira leads the Rattlers with 2.98 kills per set, while diddle Brodie Dolter leads the Rattlers with 0.71 blocks per set — good enough for fourth in the ACAC. But the Rattlers will have to find an answer for Trojans outside hitter Trent Mounter, who leads the ACAC with a staggering 3.67 kills per set, a .649 hitting percentage and an average of 0.67 aces per set. The Rattlers women’s volleyball team will look to snap a two-game skid of their own when they open the evening against the Trojans at 6 p.m. The Rattlers and Trojans are locked at fifth in the ACAC South Division standings at 4-8 on the year — four points behind the Ambrose Lions for a playoff spot. Outside hitter Amber Stigter leads the Rattlers with an impressive average of 3.82 kills per set and 172 total kills on the season — both good enough for second in the ACAC. Libero Shaya Suchy sits second in digs per set and total digs with 3.91 and 176, respectively. Trojans middle Simran Dhami will provide a challenge at the net with an ACAC-best 0.97 blocks per set, while Erin Neufeldt leads SAIT with 2.45 kills per set. The Rattlers women’s and men’s volleyball teams return home to host the Trojans Saturday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. 12
