Medicine Hat News Guilherme Fuck and Pietro de Andrade battled their way to glory at the Southern Alberta Combative Arts kickboxing tournament this weekend in Medicine Hat. The pair of former Medicine Hat College Rattlers basketball players both finished atop their classes, with Fuck besting a class of four to earn the heavyweight crown and de Andrade beating Nick Hill in the super heavyweight class. But they weren’t the only SACA kickboxers to leave the ring with top-three finishes. SACA swept the podium in the boys six-and-seven-year-old class and mixed seven-to-10-year-old class. Chase Droeske took first in the boys division, followed by Radek Rayner and Jaxin Notenbomer. Trinity Notenbomer topped the mixed seven-to-10 division, followed by teammates Dylan Peskor and Diesel Van Ham. Venice Rayner won the five-to-nine-year-old class while teammates Mila Albano and Tatym Mailhiot took third and fourth, respectively. Andrew Wigton took second in the men’s middleweight class, bowing out to first-place Noah Butterwoick from Lethbridge but besting Brooks’ Calder Morris. August Kelly found the podium in the women’s lightweight division, beating out teammate Shelby Reiling for third while Saskatoon’s Kat Duncombe took first and Brooks’ Isabelle Tayler settled for second. Berton Toma took third in the men’s middleweight division, following up behind winner Jesus Rico, of Brooks, and runner up Kyle Marleau of Elements Jiu Jitsu. 10
