Medicine Hat News The Eagle Butte Talons punched their ticket to provincials on Saturday in Lethbridge at the Alberta Schools Athletics Association 3A girls zone volleyball championship. While the Talons fell short of the zone banner with a five-set loss to the LCI Clippers in the championship game (23-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-14, 15-7), the top two teams from the tournament advance to the 3A provincial championship in Sylvan Lake this weekend. Eagle Butte earned their berth with a three-set victory over the WR Myers Rebels in the semifinals (25-17, 25-20, 25-22), after sweeping the McCoy Colts and Winston Churchill Bulldogs 2-0 in round robin play. The Crescent Heights Vikings fell just short of a provincial berth, bowing out in the semifinal with a 3-1 loss to LCI (23-25, 25-13, 25-13, 27-25). The Talons open the 3A provincial championship Thursday in Sylvan Lake. The Hat High Mohawks and Kwahommies will host the 4A provincial championships, also starting Thursday. 7
