Medicine Hat News Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club sent 13 swimmers to the Cascade Speed Meet in Calgary this weekend along with coach Jordan Harper. Parker Maxwell, 13, took home a pair of medals — a bronze in the 100-metre butterfly and a gold — as well as another provincial championship-qualifying time in the 200-metre butterfly. He took off nearly 20 seconds from his previous personal best to achieve the Champ time. His brother, 13-year-old Munro Maxwell, also finished with a medal, grabbing the bronze in the 200m freestyle, as well as achieving another provincial championship time. He just missed out on a second medal, placing fifth in the 100m butterfly. Finishing just out of the medals was 12-year-old, Ashton Scholly, who placed fourth in the 50m back stroke, and 11-year-old Kristin Hollingworth, who placed fifth in the 100m fly. Next up for AMAC is the Skin Technologies Marlin Marquee, Nov. 18-19 at the Family Leisure Centre. 7
