The Medicine Hat Tigers fell back to the .500 mark on Saturday night in Prince Albert with a 4-2 loss to the Raiders.

Hat goaltender Michael Bullion kept his team in the contest with a 32-save performance, but the Tabbies were unable to put a puck past Prince Albert’s Curtis Meger in the third period and fell to 2-2-0-0 on the year as a result.

Gary Haden opened the scoring for Medicine Hat with his second of the season late in the opening frame but Raiders centre Cole Fonstad answered with his first just over two minutes later to send the teams into the break in a 1-1 stalemate.

Tigers winger Max Gerlach extended his goal-scoring streak to three games with a go-ahead marker late in the second period, but Prince Albert’s Devon Soleski knotted the game back up with 10 seconds remaining in the middle frame, then Parker Kelly gave the Raiders their first lead of the night early in the third.

The Tigers pushed for a late equalizer, throwing 12 shots at Meger in the third period, but the 19-year-old Raiders netminder stopped them all to push Prince Albert to 2-2-0-0 on the year.

The Tabbies return to the Canalta Centre to face the CHL’s top-ranked Regina Pats (1-2-1-0) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
