Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat Rattlers golf team opened the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference season with a team-wide victory at the North Regional in Camrose this weekend — combining to win the first event in the ACAC’s new mixed division. Matthaus Taylor led the Rattlers through the weekend with a 77-71-148 to share the top of the leaderboard with MacEwan’s Josh Gorieu. Matthaus led the pack with an even 71 in Sunday’s second round to shave close a two-shot and tie Gorieu. Braden Schacher finished 12th with an 81-78-158, Kelton Hope took 17th spot with an 85-79-164 and Brett Griscowsky finished just behind in a tie for 18th with a 77-88-165. Troy Ferguson tied for 22nd with an 83-84-167, Kent Lesko took 32nd with a 92-84-176 and Mitchell Morrison rounded out MHC’s men’s class with an 83-105 to finished tied for 35th. Sierra Zukowski finished seventh on the women’s’ side with a 95-85-180 while teammate Nicole Schultz shot an 86-89-175 for fifth in the individual stroke play, while combining for 355 to take third in the women’s team event. 7
