It was a great day to get dirty Saturday, and that’s exactly what happened to dozens of trucks at the Medicine Hat Drag Strip.

The ninth annual Medicine Hat Bogger’s Mud Bog went off without a hitch, 63 entries mostly making it through the 200-foot bog but only the fastest winning their respective divisions.

Organizers estimated 1,200 spectators turned up to watch six classes’ worth of trucks try to get through the pit. The fastest to make it was Jason Cote from Brooks, whos 4.28-second run won him the open class title ahead of Raymond’s Rich Johnson.

In super modified it was Eddie Plante of Redcliff in first place, ahead of Millicent’s Garry Fletcher. Plante was also third in modified, with Gerald Huber of Brooks winning and Taber’s Victor Bael second.

Dustin Vossler of Seven Persons won the pro stock class ahead of Blake Robinson (Medicine Hat), while Hilda’s Monty Ehret was the super stock champion ahead of Taber’s Ed Hofsink.

Medicine Hat’s Dylan Yanke won the stock class ahead of Redcliff’s Amber Gallup.
