Medicine Hat News The math is pretty simple heading into the last day of round robin play at the Little League Canadian Championships in Medicine Hat. Four teams have already booked their spot in Friday’s semifinals, but the matchups are still undecided. B.C. champ White Rock improved to 5-0 with a 12-2 win over Alberta representative Lethbridge Tuesday. They’ve now outscored opponents by a combined 77-16. Quebec’s Mirabel Diamond Academy beat Prairie rep Regina 22-0, getting all but one of those runs in one inning. They still have a slim shot to take first overall at 4-1. They face B.C. in a noon game today and would have to win by a considerable margin to claim the runs for-and-against tiebreaker. And Ontario’s Port Arthur wrapped up their round robin at 5-1 with an 11-0 win over Atlantic champ Glace Bay. Medicine Hat plays Glace Bay at 3 p.m., both teams at 1-4 but unable to overtake 2-3 Lethbridge since the Southwest Little League team beat each team, giving them the tiebreaker. Lethbridge plays 0-5 Regina in today’s 9 a.m. game. 9
