Medicine Hat’s American Legion baseball teams handed out plenty of hardware Tuesday, capping their season with an awards night.

At Higdon Hall, the Monarchs, Knights and Majestics all named MVP’s, top pitchers, most improved and hardest-working players plus some awards specific to the teams.

For the AA Monarchs it was Braydon Pudwell getting the MVP distinction. He hit .359 as the Monarchs’ regular catcher, a rock both at the plate and in the field.

Ethan Boutkan, whose late-season pitching and leadership helped the Knights get to the State A tournament semifinals, was named that team’s MVP.

Lane Rempel was the Majestics MVP.

As for the rest of the Monarchs’ awards, Ethan Ropcean and his 1.28 earned run average was an easy choice as top pitcher. Drake Thompson led the squad with a .402 average and was named top hitter. Alex Andres was named most improved, Cole Schreiber took top rookie and shared the hardest worker award with Jonathon Stark.

The Knights named Ashtyn Street their best pitcher, Wyatt Bergen the top hitter, Zachary Stark the unsung hero, Cavan Kolody the hardest worker and Easton Brooks the Ken Stefani Memorial winner as most improved.

Kayden Berndt was named the Majestics’ top pitcher. Carter Krauss was their unsung hero, Dylan Fauth most improved and Reese Whelen the hardest worker.
