MAE MCMORRAN

MAE MCMORRAN October 15, 1936 ~ February 22, 2026
It is with sadness that the family of Mae Elizabeth McMorran announce her passing in Medicine Hat on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the age of 89 years.
Mae was born in Empress, AB., on October 15, 1936, the only beloved child of Leo and Elsie Saull. She attended school in Cavendish, AB. Mae married Charles McMorran on February 22, 1953, and together they farmed in the Bindloss area where they were active community members. They enjoyed 57 wonderful years before Charles passed away in 2010. Together they welcomed four children: Linda, Ken, Lance and Ron (Teri).
In 1979, they moved to Medicine Hat where both Mae and Charlie worked for Wackenhut Security for several years, travelling south during the winter months. Their home was always an open door to family and friends as Mae always had cookies or muffins ready to share, and their Christmas feasts were beyond compare! Often you could find her at the cabin at Lake Newell, fishing or enjoying her yard.
Along with her children, Mae is survived by her 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; cousin, Brenda Harty and her family; sisters-in-law, Dale (Merv) Ochitwa and Sue Barrows as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with Charles, she was predeceased by her parents; daughter-in-law, Marj McMorran; Linda’s partner, Gerry Petryk and grandson, Connor McMorran. She will be greatly missed!
Dignified cremation has taken place. Mae’s life will be honoured and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral service. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting http://www.cooksouthland.com)

BEVERLEY VORRA

1940 – BEVERLEY VORRA – 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley Vorra (lovingly known as “Nana”), a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend on February 24, 2026, at the age of 86 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and countless cherished memories. Beverley was born on January 8, 1940, in the quaint town of Beverley, Saskatchewan, to her loving parents, Arthur and Ethel Harden. She grew up surrounded by her large family, which shaped her into the nurturing, compassionate woman we came to adore. Beverley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Vorra, her parents, and her seven siblings, whose memories she held close to her heart. In 1958, Beverley met and married the love of her life, Bob Vorra, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and the joy of raising their three children: daughter, Donna (Ted) Tokamp and sons, Rob Vorra and Shane (Sharon) Vorra. Beverley’s family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to them, always putting their needs above her own. Beverley’s heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, Michelle (Curtis) Schuett, Ashley (Dart) Barnes, Jamie Vorra, Cody Vorra, Rylee Vorra, Shandon Vorra, and Shania Vorra (Shay), as well as her great-grandchildren, Haidyn, Corbyn (Cass), Greyson, Harper, Nash, and Elijah. Her home was a sanctuary filled with the aroma of her famous chicken and noodles, lovingly prepared for every family birthday celebration. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like solving crosswords, word searches, and watching TV game shows, often sharing these moments with her family. Beverley’s kindness and warmth extended beyond her immediate family to her surviving siblings, brother, Jimmy Harden and sister, Verla Birch, as well as her brother-in-law, Norm Spyker, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a beacon of love and strength, providing comfort and support to all who knew her. Beverley’s memory will be honored at a celebration of her life on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club, 947 Pigeon Street NE, Medicine Hat, Alberta. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the love that Beverley so generously gave throughout her life. The world is a little dimmer without Beverley’s radiant presence, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. BERNICE HARRISON

BERNICE HARRISON
October 23rd, 1949 February 21st, 2026
With deep love and gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Bernice Harrison on February 21, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and raised on a farm near Briercrest, Bernice carried the strength, resilience, and work ethic of prairie life with her wherever she went. Those early years shaped the capable, generous, and steady woman so many came to rely on.
Later in life, with determination and quiet courage, Bernice pursued her calling to become a Registered Nurse in Regina, Sask. Nursing was not just a profession to her, it was an extension of who she was. For 30 years in Medicine Hat, Alberta, she cared for others with compassion, dignity, and unwavering dedication. Her life was defined by service, and she gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly.
Community mattered deeply to her. As an active member of her condo’s Committee, Bernice was often the first to welcome newcomers, helping them feel at home and guiding them through the ins and outs of their new surroundings. When the seasons changed, she was there, decorating, organizing, lending a hand, making life brighter for everyone around her.
Above all, Bernice’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kimberly Bauer; her son, Ryan Harrison; and her beloved grandchildren, Brixton Harrison, Jude Harrison, Nate Bauer, and Cole Bauer, who were a constant source of pride and love. She is also survived by her brother, Terry Schick, and her sister, Christine Hutchinson.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Dora Schick; her brother, Douglas Schick; and her sister, Geraldine Rettger.
Bernice will be remembered for her steady strength, her generous heart, her creativity, and her quiet but powerful way of caring for others. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the family she nurtured, the friends she welcomed, and the many lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Condolences may be made atwww.gracememorial.com. Arrangements are made by

EVELYN MESTON

EVELYN MESTON 1938 – 2026
Evelyn Meston passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life well lived. Born October 25, 1938, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, to Clarice and Louis McFaul, Evelyn was raised in Piapot alongside her four sisters, Laura, Fern, Dorothy, and Lillian and her two brothers, Wallace and Lloyd and lastly her brother, Gordon who sadly passed at birth. Those early prairie years shaped her steady spirit and deep appreciation for family. She later settled in Medicine Hat, where she built a life rooted in love, friendship, and simple joys. In 1956, Evelyn married Don Meston. Together they shared 33 years of marriage, raising their two daughters, Brenda and Vicki, and creating a home filled with warmth and care. Though Don passed before her, the bond they shared remained a cherished part of her story. Evelyn devoted much of her working life to AGT, a place she held close to her heart. It was there she built meaningful friendships and gathered many stories she would fondly recall over the years. She found happiness in life’s little pleasures – travelling with her sisters to Hawaii and Alaska, golfing with her girlfriends, weekend bingo, and when possible, enjoying the bright lights of Las Vegas. Yet nothing brought her more joy than her four grandchildren, Michael, Krystin, Lisa, Michele and step-granddaughter, Ashleigh. She treasured every moment with them – whether making root beer floats, trips to the toy store, sharing Sunday afternoon movies, or simply spending time together. Her love was steady, generous, and unconditional. Her love extended to her four great-grandchildren, Eva, Sayde, Sidney and Charlie, who were a special source of pride and happiness in her later years. Evelyn valued companionship, loyal friendships, and a life centered on family. She will be missed more than words can express. Those who loved her take comfort in believing she is reunited with Don and the many family members and friends who went before her. Forever loved as Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Auntie and Dear Friend. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace. A private graveside service will take place at the Hillside Cemetery.
