EARL CARLSON 1937 ~ 2026 Earl Ronald Carlson, beloved husband of the late Sheila Carlson, passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the age of 88 years. A Celebration of Earl’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The chapel service will be live-streamed. LILLIAN KRAUSE

1930 ~ LILLIAN KRAUSE ~ 2026
Lillian Ruth Irene Krause of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Oswald (“Ossie”) Krause, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 95 years. Lillian was born in Beverley, SK, on October 10, 1930. Lillian’s mother, Ethel, being too busy with three boys and a newborn at home, had her husband, Arthur, and her mother drive to Regina to register the new baby named Irene. Upon arriving home, her mother informed her that she’d changed the baby’s name to Lillian Ruth Irene. When an aunt came out to visit the baby, she commented on how small she was and said (in her accented English), “Isn’t she a tip of a thing”, thus the nickname ‘Tippy’ came about, and that’s how the family referred to Lillian from that day forward. The family moved to the farm outside of Beverley where Lillian, as the oldest daughter of nine children, helped raise her five younger siblings. The family was very musical, and Lillian played many different instruments by ear. After completing school, Lillian moved to Medicine Hat to work as a nurse’s aid at the old hospital. Mom loved spending her early days curling, fishing, playing canasta with her lady friends and working at the farm with her husband. Mom also loved the babies and was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and her first great-great-grandchild, born 10 days prior to her passing. How she would have loved to have snuggled that little one. Lillian is survived by her children, Louise (Glenn) Deering and their children, Denise Deering and Derek Deering (Carlene; Elias and Aiden), Deborah Telke and her children, Kimberley Gould (Allen; Delilah), Devon Patience (Chad; Emma and Ethan), Jeneal Vargo (Matt; William and Alexandria), Owen (Leanne) Telke and their children, Ryan Telke (Tanya; Daquotah Gleisner (Aiden; Tatum), Quin-Tanah Telke (Brady Lee), Treyden Telke and Bree Telke), Kaitlin Hall (Justin; Adiana and Ava), Kyle Telke (Kathleen), Brian Telke’s daughter Teresa Pye (Travis; Brantley). Lillian is also survived by her three step children, Brenda Chapman and her children Jocelynn Heintz (Davin; Aiva and Aubrey), Janessa Humphreys (Ryan; Kylynn and Emery), Brian (Pam) Krause and Sherri (Burt) Skuban and their children, Chris (Kait), Sheldon (Crystal; Gordon and Linda). Also survived by sisters, Verla Birch and Beverly Vorra, brother Jimmy Harden and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and five brothers, she is predeceased by her husband Ossie, sons Keith Telke and Brian Telke; and son-in-law, Donald Chapman. Lillian spent the last five years at Masterpiece and was much loved by all the staff in LTC. The family would like to thank them for their love and dedication to their ‘Lilybug’ over this time. MARGORIE ANN JANE DUNLOP Margorie Ann Jane Dunlop, 91 years old, formerly of Medicine Hat, passed away in Qualicum Beach BC on December 22, 2025 quickly and peacefully after a very short illness.

STEWART ROSS KENNEDY October 27, 1957 ~ January 27, 2026
With heavy hearts, the family of Stewart Ross Kennedy announces his passing in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, following a brief illness with cancer.
Stewart was the beloved husband of Joan and a devoted father to Ryan (Lizzie), Megan (Andy) and Emma (Ahmed). He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Iona; sister, Laura (Tim); brother, Barry as well as Joan’s extended family and many friends near and far. He was predeceased by his father, Lorne and his brother, Rodney.
After beginning his working life as a sheet metal mechanic, Stewart returned to university in 1986, where he met Joan. They married in 1991 and settled in Medicine Hat after his graduation from law school in 1992, where he built his law practice and raised their family.
Stewart will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, good humour and intellect as well as his love of travel, dinosaur bones and Roman history. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family thanks Dr. Mohanraj and the doctors and staff of Unit 5E for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 504 – 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. ROBERT “BOB” EDWARD MOSS August 14th, 1963 January 29th, 2026 It is with deep sadness we share Bob passed away on January 29th, 2026, at the age of 62 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patti Moss; daughters, Ashley Moss and Kristen Moss (Evan McLean); his parents, Edward and Marilyn Moss; sister, Colleen Moss; mother-in-law, Eileen Parker; brother-in-law, Jim Parker; sister-in-law, Wanda (Jeff) Losie. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & friends. Bob was predeceased by his grandparents, Alden & Tibbie Plant and his father-in-law, Alfred Parker.
Bob was born and raised in Medicine Hat. He enjoyed fishing, fly tying, and enjoying a wide array of music. He had a lifelong love for hockey, fastball & baseball. His family would like to greatly thank the Medicine Hat EMS, ER, Police & Fire Department staff for the excellent care he received in his final moments.

LOVERNE MAPSTONE

LOVERNE MAPSTONE July 20, 1937 ~ January 31, 2026
It is with a heavy heart that Raymond announces the passing of his loving wife, Loverne Caroline Mapstone (nee Wardberg). She passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the age of 88 years. Along with Raymond, her beloved husband of 67 years, Loverne’s memory will be forever cherished by their two daughters, Caroline (Dean) Neitz and their two daughters, Amanda (Keegan) and Raeann (Chris); Laurel Eremenko and her three children, Sandra, Brett (Nikol) and Desirae (Dan); six great-grandchildren, Saylem, Cohen, Bowen, Blaire, Aubrey and Lorenzo; two brothers, LeRoy and Lyle Wardberg as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Asmund ‘Ole’ and Esther Wardberg; son-in-law, Elmer Benson; great-grandson, Karson Eremenko; two sisters, Alice Wardberg and Velma Wardberg (Schmaltz) as well as her brother, Alfred (Josephine) Wardberg.
Loverne was born in Maple Creek, SK., on July 20, 1937. The family lived near Vidora, SK., later moving to the farm north of Robsart, SK.
She was a member of the Oxarat Sewing Circle and was involved with the Figure Skating Club, Hall Board and Ceramic Club. She led 4-H clothing for over 15 years and was General Leader of the Robsart Club as well as an Avon Rep for many years. Loverne was very talented and creative, sewing countless wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and skating costumes. She also made wedding bouquets, various floral pieces and decorated many wedding cakes, built furniture pieces and did home renovations.
Ray and Loverne moved to Dunmore in the fall of 1991 where they resided until moving to Medicine Hat in September of 2018.
A Celebration of Loverne’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. A time of fellowship will follow in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
