CAL CHRISTOPHERSON

CAL CHRISTOPHERSON March 11, 1938 ~ November 19, 2025
It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of a beloved husband, partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to so many who loved him dearly. Calvin Merian Christian Christopherson passed away at his home in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the age of 87 years.
Calvin will be dearly missed by his partner, Minnie Schindel of Medicine Hat; daughters, Leanne (Andy) and Deb (Bev); sons, Kevin (Karen) and Kyle; 10 grandchildren, Amber, Clayton, Ashley, Jared, Desireé, Chelsea, Jessica, Katrina, Austin, Kylie and their spouses; 20 great-grandchildren as well as a large extended family. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Evalene; parents, two brothers, a sister and sister-in-law. Cal was born and raised in Theodore, SK., and followed in his father’s footsteps learning the carpentry trade. He later moved to Saskatoon where he continued in the construction industry with his dad and brother. This is also where he started his family of four children. Somewhere between 1969 – 1972, he then moved to Richmond, BC., where he continued his business in construction with his brother, Roger and Cal’s two sons, Kevin and Kyle. After Evalene’s passing in 2000, he met up with an old friend at a Saskatchewan reunion, Minnie Schindel. They first became pen pals and then a year or two later, around 2003, Cal was on his way to Medicine Hat where he and Minnie resided until his passing. They enjoyed many happy times with their friends and coffee buddies, right up to the day before he passed. Cal was a wonderful father, husband, partner, grandpa and great-grandpa. He always had a joke or story to tell and was a very fun loving soul who will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him. A celebration of Cal’s life will be held in the new year in Richmond, BC., for his immediate family and close friends. “Forever in our hearts. We love and miss you.” (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at http://www.cooksouthland.com Honoured to serve the family is
