ARLENE KRAUSZ
1944 ARLENE KRAUSZ 2025 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Arlene Krausz, wife of Terry Krausz. Arlene passed peacefully at the age of 81 years, in Medicine Hat, surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her parents, Reinhold and Clara Krauss. Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Terry; her children, Bonnie (Pat), Terry Scott (Tammy); grandchildren, Mitchell (Angelina), Devin (Jenn); her four great grandchildren, Wade, Rory, Noah, and Arya; brother; Donald (Carol); sister-in-law Randi Motz; and niece, Shannon (Don). True to her youth on the farm, Arlene was one tough lady! She loved her horses and was an excellent rider. After getting married, Arlene and Terry moved to Calgary where she worked hauling freight and could toss 50 lb boxes of nails and even pipes. She kept the men on their toes. She then moved onto Carlton cards, where she worked for over 20 years, all the while raising her two young children. In retirement, Terry and Arlene moved back to her childhood farm, and promptly forgot what retirement meant. She was a going concern with her flowers and various chores around the farm. Peonies, Hollyhocks, and Bleeding Hearts were her favorites. Arlene had an amazing love of life and an incredible sense of humour. She will be so very missed by all who knew her. Arlene’s memorial service will be held at Fifth Avenue Memorial United Church, 476 4th Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Saturday, November 29 ,2025 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Fifth Avenue United Church or to the Alzheimer’s Society in Arlene’s name. Condolences may be sent to

VERNA PERRY
1927 ~ VERNA PERRY ~ 2025
Verna Perry of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 98 years. Verna is survived by her children, Robert (Judy), Loretta (Don), Donald (Gladys) and Ron (Tracy); grandchildren, Peggy (Pierre), Dean, Mark (Christine), Robert (Kendra), Ashley (Luke), Chelsey (Logan), Corey (Ashlee) and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Callum, Cameron (Dana), Courtney, Tanner, Connor, Cassidy (Josh), Nevaeh, Sophia, Abigail, Gabriel and Knox; great-great grandchildren, Levi, Ollie and Luke; sister, Evelyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Verna is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Jean Pols; husband, William Perry; great grandchildren, Noah; sisters, Florence Pols and Agnes Craig. Mom saw a lot of changes in her 98 years. From outdoor toilets to running water; from candlelight to electricity. She has seen it all, and not once did she ever complain. She waxed and stripped floors when she was pregnant with the twins in order to help pay the rent. She was not one to just sit around. She never had idle hands. She loved to crochet, knit, make Afghan’s, and did quilting. When she still could, she loved cooking Sunday dinners for family to all gather. The only problem was that Mary the Maid never showed up on Sundays to do the dishes after we were all done. She had a great sense of humor, which would come out unexpectedly. Loretta recommended she use a walker one day and was told “that’s for old people”. She loved her family but also loved her peaceful time alone. A special thank you to Kristin, her granddaughter, who did so much to help grandma and visit. Also, a special thank you to Masterpiece for the great care she received from there for the last few years that she spent there, to 5 East and Dr. Majeed for the care and compassion she was shown in her final days. You were truly loved and will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Mom. There will be a private Memorial Service held. Donations in Verna’s memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 220, 6223 2 Street SE, Calgary, AB T2H 1J5 or A.J.’s Loan Cupboard, P.O. KENNETH ARTHUR
KENNETH ARTHUR 1954~ 2025
Kenneth Eugene Arthur, beloved husband of Linda Arthur of Medicine Hat, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the age of 71 years. Along with his loving wife Linda, Ken leaves to cherish his memory three children, Rhyan (Darran Dick) Arthur, Adam Arthur (Jocelyn) and Nigel Arthur; three grandchildren, Brody Dick, Dylan Dick and Lana Arthur; two brothers, Robert Arthur and Hugh Arthur; his aunt, Shirley Bowler who is 106 years old; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Johnson, Jill Johnson and Melinda Arthur; two brothers-in-law, Brian Johnson and Murray Johnson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joan and William Arthur. Ken was born on January 31, 1954, to William and Joan Arthur, in Edmonton, Alberta where he was raised. While attending the University of Alberta, he worked part time at a car dealership and fell in love with Honda vehicles. A gifted salesman, Ken sold more Hondas than anyone else in Canada and was offered the opportunity to open a Honda dealership in Medicine Hat. He jumped at this opportunity and opened the dealership in 1977 with the help of his parents. There he met the love of his life Linda through Medicine Hat Musical Theatre. They were married in 1978. In 1980, Ken and his brother Hugh started working on building inventory control software to streamline parts management at the Honda dealership. In 1982, the two brothers realized they had built something special and decided to go into the software business. The dealership was sold and Autostar Compusystems Inc. was born. After years of hard work, sacrifice and perseverance, Autostar became a successful company. Ken retired from Autostar in 1993, but the business is still in operation today. Ken was an active member in the community. He volunteered with Christian Counselling, the food bank and Communities in Bloom. He served on the Catholic School Board and was an active member of the Kiwanis Club.
Ken loved to play cards and his favorite game was Bridge. He was a brilliant player and was a member of a local bridge club. Some of Ken’s best memories were made in Orlando, Florida, where he frequently vacationed with his family & friends. He loved to entertain and was known for his “24-hour” slow-cooked roast beef. Ken was a person who loved to laugh, he was always smiling and making some kind of a joke (usually a pun) and his razor sharp wit never failed to draw chuckles from those around him. Of all the amazing things he did in his life, Ken was the most proud of his children and grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating. Those who wish to remember Ken with a donation, may do so to the Medicine Hat Kidney Care Clinic (
