PHILIP MELVIN REGNIER

PHILIP MELVIN REGNIER 1961 2025 With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Phil on August 9, 2025. A loving husband to Charlotte (Duchscherer), proud dad to Alyssia Hawn (Kevin), Ryan Regnier (Grace), Brett Regnier (Jenny) and grandfather to five grandchildren: Kiara, Gage, Grayson, Michael, and Gabriel. And will also be remembered by Sherianne Street (Regnier) and Adam Regnier as well as Brenda and Norman Duchscherer (in-laws).
Phil’s memory will be carried on by his sister Cindy, his nephew Bradley, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Melvin and Theresa, brother Keith, and grandsons Gage and Michael.
Phil will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor, and the love he showed his family and friends. His presence filled every room, and his absence will be deeply felt.
We will be celebrating Phil’s life together on Saturday, September 27, from 2:00 4:00 p.m. at 29 Riley Court, Medicine Hat, Alberta, in the back. All who wish to join us in honoring Phil’s memory are warmly invited.

JOYCE KNOPS

JOYCE KNOPS Marlene Joyce Knops, beloved wife, best friend and life partner of Dale Knops of Foremost, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. With Dale by her side, holding her hand, she passed away peacefully leaving Dale heartbroken. Knowing that she is now pain free will help mend his broken heart. Joyce was born in Medicine Hat to Charles and Emma Weiss. She enjoyed a life with many friends, got her teaching degree from the University of Edmonton and started what she always said was the best job in the world, teaching elementary students. Joyce and Dale got married on July 2, 1985, and spent the last 40 years enjoying their life together. Their passion was taking their 5th wheel and camping all through western Canada and the United States. Joyce is survived by her husband, Dale; her three fur babies; her sister, Sharon Weiss; her sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bill Behrman and their sons and families; sister-in-law, Brenda Knops and her daughters and family, as well as many cousins and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Emma Weiss; her in-laws, Willard and Annie Knops, and brother-in-law, Allan Knops. AUGUST SOEHN


AUGUST SOEHN April 30, 1940 ~ September 20, 2025 Mr. August Soehn, beloved husband of the late Magdalen Soehn (nee Bosch), passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the age of 85 years. August is survived by his daughter, Noel (James McArdle) and their children, Madison and Jack McArdle; and a son, Dr. Scott Soehn (Dr. Melanie Lewis) and the three Soehn grandsons, Spencer, Cael and Finlay.
August was the youngest son of Anton and Eva Soehn and grew up in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan with his seven brothers and one sister. Upon turning 18, August moved to Medicine Hat where he got his start in the Graphic Arts field working at Pete’s signs. August married the love of his life, Magdalen, in 1960. He started at CHAT in the art department the following year and then became the Art Director for CHAT television. After 40 years “in the same room and the same building” he retired in April of 2001. August enjoyed golf, traveling and working in his woodworking shop. He especially enjoyed camping with his family, many family trips and the Bosch family reunions where many of the nieces and nephews could tell you a story or two that Uncle August told them.
The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Ridge Seniors Home for their care, compassion and kindness during August’s stay.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 238 – 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Paolo Cervantes celebrant. Gift bearers for the funeral mass will be Cherie Johnson, Wes Sehn and Neil Bosch. Private Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a reception thereafter in the Reflections Reception Facility. August’s Funeral Mass will be live-streamed. PERRY RATH

PERRY RATH 1974 ~ 2025 Mr. Perry Michael Rath passed away peacefully at his residence in Redcliff on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the age of 51 years. He will be forever remembered by his loving mother, Roberta; brother, Raymond; two nieces, Madison and Samantha; nephew, Kingston as well as numerous extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Harold Rath on August 30, 2025. Perry was born in Medicine Hat on February 14, 1974. He worked a period of time in the oilfield, but always held a spot in his heart for the family ranch. His memory will live on through his family and those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Perry’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating.
