PHILIP JOHN MILNE

PHILIP JOHN MILNE Born July 29, 1942 – March 4, 2025 5:40am He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 yrs Maureen Milne (Hehr), and is also deeply loved by his daughters; Robin Reppnack (Bob) and Cori Fischer (Tim).
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren Bailey Milne, Logan Milne, Matthew Reppnack (Matti), Josh Reppnack, Jasmin Fischer and Damien Fischer.
Because he was an only child he treasured his “in-law” family; Janet Cook (Terry), Richard Hehr (Orlean), Roger Hehr (Marlene), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mother Evelyn (Mussin), father Jack (1992), father in law Elmer Hehr (1990), mother in law Ilene Hehr (2015).
He was born in Flin Flon, MB and moved to Medicine Hat in 1957. He was working for Pepsi when he met his wife and also had a career in the tire business; Gardner Tire and then Finnie Tire. He retired from Purolator Courier in 2005, being known as the whistling Purolator guy. Phil was a happy go lucky, self sacrificing, loving man that would do anything for his family and friends. He was always eager to share knowledge and was generous with everyone he met. He is deeply loved and will be missed terribly.

BARRY UNREINER

BARRY UNREINER 1954-2025
With broken hearts the familv of Barry Unreiner announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, Mach 4, 2025. Barry was born May 8,1954, and raised on the family farm at Schuler, Alberta. The family moved to Medicine Hat in 1970, where Barry completed his education at Medicine Hat High School. He obtained his journeyman welding certificate but decided to change careers and joined the Medicine Hat Police Service in 1976. After 30 years, Barry retired as Staff Sergeant having the honour and privilege of serving under the direction of six Chiefs of Police.
In 2005, Barry began his second career as a Corporate Safety Manager in oilfield construction. After 12 years, it was finally time to retire for good and spend more time with family and farming. Both careers afforded Barry many opportunities for travel, and new experiences and adventures. Barry and lngret married in 1987. Brianne was born in 1988 and four years later Brendan arrived to complete their family. Barry enjoyed travel with friends and family, whether it was to Vegas, the Maritimes or some tropical destination. He spent many hours team roping in his younger days and then enjoyed playing recreation and old-timers hockey.
Unfortunately, in 2020 Barry was diagnosed with dementia and resided at Sunnyview Care Center for the past 3 years.
Barry is survived by his loving wife lngret, children Brianne (Ryan) Cramer and Brendan Unreiner; grandchildren Eden and Rhys Cramer. He is also survived by his siblings: Katie Schafer, Rose Roth, Tillie Burch, Frances (Ernie) Stock, Nick (Liz) Unreiner, Pauline (Brendan) McLoughlin, John Unreiner (Joan Lanz), Marlene Schaan and Loretta Ramsay (John Segin); brothers-in-law Barney Roth and Joe Zerr as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ingret’s family: mother-in-law Freida Degen, sisters-in-law Marg Degen, Linda (George McKee), Violet (Trent) Foster, and Ada (Randy Stadnicki). He was predeceased by his parents George and Elizabeth, brother Terry in infancy, and sisters Ann Stout and Clare Zerr; brothers-in-law Ron Stout, Micke Schafer, Bob Burch, Garry Eresman, Larry Daffy, Fred Schaan and father-in-law Alfred Degen. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Saturday March, 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating . VERNA STUBER

VERNA STUBER 1933-2025
Verna Stuber (nee: Rath) of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 91 years, beloved wife of Bill Stuber (deceased). She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Wayne (Kathy); grandchildren Jennifer, Brant (Candace); great grandsons Caden and Liam; daughter-in-law Wanda Stuber; granddaughters Brandi, Breann and great grandson Jacob; her brother, Marvin (Ruth) Rath; sister-in-law Violet Heller (Edwin deceased) and Delores Gartly (Gerald deceased); as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Warren; her parents Emma and Fred Rath; her sister Gladys, brother-in-law Elmer Schlenker; and her parents-in-law Molly and Frank Stuber.
Verna grew up in the Tothill area on the family farm. She worked tirelessly on the farm, milking cows, stooking hay, and preparing meals for the harvest crew. She was a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding where she met Bill Stuber. After Bill and Verna married on October 30, 1953, they moved to Bill’s family’s farm south of Medicine Hat in the Wisdom district. Wayne was born in 1954, and Warren was born in 1959. She grew a garden, milked cows and tended to farm life. In 1976, Bill and Verna moved to Medicine Hat. Verna took a job at Frans Closet in the Southview Mall, and later as a till clerk at the Co-op. They enjoyed dancing at the Moose Lodge, playing cards with friends and family and going for coffee. Verna looked after her great grandkids every chance she had. Verna enjoyed spending time with family, ensuring they were well fed with her homemade egg noodles and knefla, chili, jello in a saucer, and going home with a bag full of candy. Bill and Verna were happily married for an impressive 71 years.
Verna spent the last year at The Wellington, where she met new friends and enjoyed watching pool and listening to the music bands. Thank you to The Wellington for your kindness and support over the past 14 months. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.
