1950 ~ LINDA MOAR ~ 2025 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Mary Moar (nee Wickenheiser) who passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on January 16, 2025, at the age of 74 years. She is survived by her children, Chad (Jody) Moar, Deanne (Dennis) Pelley, Jody (Nick) Ruttle; grandchildren, Taylor (Katelynn) MacDonald, Ryley (Kaitlin) MacDonald, Douglas Moar, Kaitlyn (Tyler) Moar, Sophie Ruttle, Alex Ruttle; great grandchildren, Willow MacDonald, Malcolm MacDonald, Ian MacDonald and another nugget expected in June; brothers, Dick (Margrethe) Wickenheiser, Mike (Brenda) Wickenheiser, and Ron Nelson; sisters, Carol (Ken) Small and Brenda (Bill) Wickenheiser, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Norman Moar; her parents, John and Irene Wickenheiser; sister, Gaileen Nelson; and partner, Ray Mompere. Linda loved being surrounded by her family, reading, doing puzzles and she also enjoyed having a nice glass of wine. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Calgary, AB. PATRICK LIBOIRON 1949 ~ 2025 Patrick Joseph Liboiron, beloved husband of Brenda Liboiron of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 75 years. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at PATTISON FUNERAL HOME AND CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in HOLY FAMILY PARISH (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. MYRTLE JOHNSON

MYRTLE JOHNSON 1929 – 2025 Myrtle Florence Johnston of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Jack Johnston, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, at the age of 95 years. Myrtle was born in Calgary, Alberta to Thomas and Catherine (Kay) Jones. Myrtle worked at various careers from waiting tables when she was younger to working as Accounting Clerks when she got older. Myrtle loved life. She liked to be around people laughing and having fun right up until her death. Her feisty attitude was mentioned lots from several of her caregivers at the various nursing homes she was in and certainly by all who knew her.
Myrtle married Reg Magnuson on December 31, 1949. They had two children. Peter was born on May 24, 1951, and Patricia was born January 1, 1954. They lived in Calgary and Edmonton until their divorce.
Myrtle and her children moved to a farm in Okotoks with her parents Tom and Kay. The family has many great memories of our life there. There was always something happening at Granny and Grampa’s. Myrtle married Jack Johnston on February 18, 1972, and moved to Spokane Washington, USA. She remained there until 2007 when she moved to Medicine Hat to be closer to family.

She is survived by her son Pete (Wendy) Magnuson, grandchildren Trevor (Jenny), Tyler (Arie), Shannon (Chad), Sheri (Brad), Marti (Nadine) and her daughter Pat (Dwight) Kimber, grandchildren Mike (Martha) and Tom (Amber) as well as several great and great-great grandchildren. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Jack Johnston and her parents Tom and Kay Jones. She had no siblings but several cousins.
Myrtle’s funeral will be held at PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE (540 South Railway Street SE) on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Okotoks.

ANNE BAIER

ANNE BAIER 1927 – 2024 We are saddened to announce the passing of Anne Louise Baier on December 25, 2024, at the age of 97 1/2 years, beloved wife of the late Joseph John Baier. Born in Mendham, Saskatchewan May 1, 1927 to Philip and Katherin Jangula; the last surviving sibling of the Jangula/Moser blended family of twenty children. In 1944, she moved to Medicine Hat where she met and married Joe in 1946, her husband of 71 years.
Anne is survived by her daughter Roberta Robyn Miller (Neil), grandchildren Kiel Miller (Mona) and Laura Miller (Andrew) and her great grandchildren Knox Miller, River and Sol Misle; her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy; she loved being GG. Anne was a member of St Patrick’s congregation and the Catholic Women’s League for more than 70 years. Mom resided in Independent Living at Masterpiece Southlands since December 2017.
We would like to thank the staff who made her feel like family and also all the great friendships she made while living there. The family is grateful for the exceptional care from Dr. Martin and the staff of 5 West, as well as the Doctors and staff of St. Joseph’s Home.
A family graveside service was held at Hillside Cemetery. A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held on or near her birthday May 1, 2025. Arrangements will be announced when completed.
