1959 ~ GEORGE THOMAS “TOM” ROSE ~ 2025
George Thomas “Tom” Rose, son of Dr. Janet Rose and the late Richard (Dick) Rose, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 65 years. Tom leaves his memory with his companion, Gail (Scribner) Tucker; as well as his sons, Christopher Belcourt (Michelle Dodge) and their son, Jaden, Cory (Randi) Belcourt and their daughter, Summer, Curtis Belcourt, and Sean Rose (Tether Link); his only brother, David Rose, along with many others who he loved dearly. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Angela Belcourt-Rose, and his daughter, Meaghen Rose. Tom was born on April 13, 1959, in Medicine Hat. He grew up on a ranch West of Redcliff on Highway 524. Tom spent the majority of his career working in the oil and gas industry where he made many connections in and around the area of Medicine Hat, later he transitioned into the green energy industry. He was a jack of all trades and a master of some. In 2000, the family resided in Bow Island, where he made a home and many friends. Tom was a very passionate man towards any job he took on. His knowledge was impeccable, he was an avid reader and was continuously learning new things. Tom was looking forward to slowing down this year to spend more time with family and working on more projects of his own. Tom constantly saw the value in things that others did not. He would actively try to find new projects to fix or build into something new. He touched the lives of many and will be forever missed. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB, on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion – Bow Island, 202 5th Avenue East, Bow Island, Alberta T0K 0G0, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Life Celebrant Lynett Getz officiating. DICK NEEDHAM

DICK NEEDHAM 1941 – 2025 Richard “Dick” Needham passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 83 years, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, following a lengthy illness. Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years Frances, their children Peter (Sofia) of Calgary and Catherine Oram (Blake Hull) of Medicine Hat, four grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as his brother Robert “Bob” Needham and many nieces and nephews. Richard was raised on the family ranch south of Piapot. He attended Stillwater, Piapot and Maple Creek Schools and then earned his Bachelor of Agriculture degree at the University of Saskatchewan. On December 12, 1962, he married Frances Lawrence in Saskatoon. They returned to Piapot where they built their home and farmed. Richard will be remembered by his family and friends for his generosity and quick wit. He had an unfailing work ethic and a wide range of interests; aviation, hunting, cars, motorcycles, and coached his son’s baseball team to provincial finals. Richard was a charter member of the Piapot Lion’s Club, and was a member of the Maple Creek flying Club. Together with Frances he restored the Anglican Church in Piapot. The funeral service will be held in the MAPLE CREEK UNITED CHURCH (301 Maple Street) on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST with Rev. Sheila Deforest officiating.
