Mary Ann McGuire, beloved wife of the late Bob McGuire, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Bob (July 1, 2015) and her daughter, Janet (April 1, 2017). Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of her three children: (daughter, Janet †) and her son, Branden; son, Tim (Lucille) and his family, Brent (Amy & their children, Avery, Emma and Sadie), Jason (Christine & their children, Leo and Ivy), and Matt; son, Dave and his family, Ryan (Kristen and their children, Abey, Jaida and Colton), Tyler and his son, Maze as well as Sean and his son, Madden. BLAKE PALMER 1977 ~ 2024
Blake John Harrington Palmer passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 8, 2024. He is survived by his father, Marshall Palmer, and his wife, Gayle; sister, Meara Palmer, and nephew, Coen; step-sister, Polly Sue (Tim) Colwell and nephews, Matthew and Liam and, niece Lydia; his step-brother, Robert Palmer; as well as numerous friends and their children, whom he considered family in every regard. Blake was raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and chose architecture as his career. He attended Montana State University (Bozeman), where he received his Master’s in architecture and graduated with Honours. Blake loved to learn and received many accolades including the Tau Sigma Delta Medal, Outstanding Thesis Award, Critical Regionalism Competition (2nd place), and he obtained his Sustainable Building Advisor certification (SBA). Blake was a kind and caring person. Family and friends were of the utmost importance to him. Blake was artistic and creative, and he loved a challenge. His adventurous spirit took him across Canada on his bicycle, hiking, snowboarding, fire dancing, and spreading positivity wherever he travelled. He could usually be found at the Frisbee golf course “training for the Olympics”. Sincere thanks and deep appreciation for the help, caring, and kindness expressed to us by family, friends, neighbours, and healthcare workers during his struggle with cancer. The Memorial Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB, on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, at 4:00 pm with Rev. Dave Pollard officiating. MARK WATSON 1971 – 2024
Mark Richard Alexander Watson passed away suddenly at Smoky Lake, Alberta on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the age of 53 years, beloved husband of Corinne Watson of Redcliff. Mark was born at Edlington, England to Fran and Mel Watson, and at the age of three years, moved with his family to Canada settling in Sparwood, B.C. where he received his schooling. His working career entailed several jobs including delivering newspapers, driving trucks in the mine, roofing, being a waiter and selling furniture, but settled on driving water and vac trucks. Mark had the same employer for over 25 years. In his free time, Mark liked to go camping, ATVing and taking time for his family as well as going on vacations – the latest being to the Dominican Republic to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife Corinne, he leaves to cherish his memory their children Justin (Meray) Watson and Caitlin Watson; his parents Mel and Fran Watson; sisters Sherry (Don) Hoisington and Louise (Wayne) Walters; his in-laws Diane and Dave Veley, brother-in-law Shane (Jenn) Klatt; one nephew Greyson Klatt and four nieces Alyssa Hoisington, Rebecca Hoisington, Mackenzie Walters and Mia Walters. A celebration of Mark’s life will take place in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The celebration of life will be livestreamed.
