ANNABELLE (TREIBER) VERMETTE November 4th, 1925 September 7th, 2024
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Annabelle Vermette announces her passing after 98 years of a life well lived.
Annabelle was born on November 4th, 1925, in Warner, AB and passed away in Bow Island Long Term Care on September 7th, 2024. Mom was born into a farming family in the Goddard area. She had three sisters and one brother.
As a young adult, she attended Henderson Business School in Lethbridge and became a secretary for the RCMP.
Our dad, Alex Treiber, left the Schuler area to work as a grain buyer in Foremost. He befriended mom’s brother, Ray Collin and this is how the romance began. Mom and dad were married November 11th, 1951. She was a homemaker, raised their three children and worked as secretary for the Village of Foremost from home as there was no physical office at that time. We remember council meetings taking place around our kitchen table. In 1962, mom accepted the secretarial position at Foremost School where she worked for 25 years. Every kid in school knew Mrs. Treiber.
Mom belonged to many clubs and organizations over the years such as Community Club, Royal Purple and CWL. She had the distinction of being a CWL member for 70 years. She was a curler and gifted sewer making our clothes and quilts. Annabelle was an avid Blue Jays fan. She attended a game in Toronto for her 85th birthday. She loved travelling and especially all the camping trips with both sides of the family. If only the motorhome could talk! They winter holidayed in Mesa, AZ for a few years.
After the passing of our dad, mom moved to Medicine Hat. She then married a family friend, Emile Vermette. They had five good years together until Emile’s passing. At that time, mom moved into a condo and had many enjoyable years socializing and making new friends. Tony Shatz became a great companion for her. In 2014, mom decided it was time to move to the Pleasant View Lodge in Bow Island. Here she spent nine years enjoying the company of new and old friends and the excellent care of the staff.
Mom was a very petite lady and was the measuring stick for our children and grandchildren. The common phrase was, “I am taller than Grandma Annabelle now!”
Annabelle leaves to cherish her memory her son, Craig (Thelma) Treiber of North Battleford, SK; daughter, Carlene (Wayne Foss) of Foremost and their three children, Melanie (Jim Peterson), Cara (Lee Belcher) and Alissa; daughter, Adele (Craig Metheral) of Hilda and their four children, Jay (Kristy), Jordy (Tanya), Casey (Jennifer) and Trish (Josh Helman) and 13 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Fortunat and Florence Collin; her husband, Alex and grandson, Dalton Foss. Annabelle was the last remaining member of her family being predeceased by Marcelline, Melvina, Mary and Ray.
A private service will be held to lay our mom to rest in the Foremost Cemetery.

CAMERON SCHORR 1970 – 2024
Cameron Wade Schorr, 54, passed away at his home in Medicine Hat on August 27, 2024, from complications related to his struggle with alcohol addiction.
Cam is survived by his children Logan and Ciel Schorr, their mom Kelly Schorr, siblings Doug Schorr and Sister Carrie (Ken) Lepp. In-Law’s Paul and Evelyn Neilson, Sister-in-Law’s Kirstie Radel – Nielson, Taylor (Steve) Bueckert, and brother-in-law Scott (Michelle) Hagen, his first wife Michelle Goertzen, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Vern and Florence Schorr, his significant other Ralanda Murphy, and his mother-in-law, Elaine Hagen.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Septembe14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Plume Church (10224 Range Rd 52, Cypress County, AB). LUCILLE McFADYEN
LUCILLE McFADYEN 1944 – 2024
It is with deep sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Lucille Marie Alberta McFadyen (Hyde) of Medicine Hat. Lucille is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry; her siblings Jean Hyde (Val), Gerald Hyde, Geraldine Gervais (Edward), Rosemarie Gannon (Archie), sisters-in-law Helen of Swift Current and Helen of Saskatoon, Mavis McFadyen and all their families. She was predeceased by her parents Rollande and Harold Hyde; brothers Joseph and Maurice, her in-laws Daniel and Alaine McFadyen; brothers-in-law Ian McFadyen and Lane McFadyen; sister-in-law Patricia Stuart and brother-in-law Wally Stuart. Lucille was born on December 18, 1944 in Moosomin to Harold and Rollande Hyde, the eldest of seven children. On December 2, 1972, Lucille married Larry McFadyen; in her words – her rock. Married life began in Wapella, Saskatchewan then moving to Medicine Hat in 1984. In their 52 years together they travelled to 120 Communities across Saskatchewan, Alberta and New Brunswick while Larry worked on the pipeline, retiring in 2009. They enjoyed spending time with family, special friends Val and Ken Holderbein, Cary and Dennis Schlemko, Dwayne Cartwright and their families. They attended and enjoyed daily coffee row and monthly birthday suppers. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff on 4 west at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for the great care of Lucille. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Myles Gaffney Celebrant.
