THELMA SCHNEIDER

THELMA SCHNEIDER 1938 – 2024
Thelma Vivien Schneider of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Vernon Schneider, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 86 years. Thelma was born on April 14, 1938, to Adolph and Susanna Stahl. Thelma loved growing up on their farm at Richmound, Saskatchewan with her older brother, Marvin. She repeatedly said that she would never trade her childhood or this family that she adored. On October 29, 1958, Thelma married Vern and they spent 52 happy years together. They had their own family of four following the births of their sons, Dean and Todd. Thelma was an extraordinary homemaker. As the boys grew older, she started at Farm Credit Corporation as an Administrative Assistant. She was employed there for 23 years. Thelma loved her motorhome, camping trips with Vern, especially when accompanied by family and friends. She loved big family dinners and being out at her son’s ranch. She had a strong faith and loved being involved in her church. She admired bright colours and interesting patterns. Thelma served selflessly, baked delicious buns, and had an incredible sense of humour. She enjoyed simple pleasures like the open prairie, full moons, long walks, ice cream, and all things that involved being together as a family. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Thelma will be dearly missed by her sons, Dean and Todd (Laurie); grandchildren Leah (Tommy Debakker), Brenda (Cory Ror), Kayla and Victoria; great grandchildren Adrianna and Nathan; sisters-in-law Loreen Wright and Ivy Stahl as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
