ELEANOR MARY KATCHMER July 9, 1940 – March 29, 2024
Eleanor Katchmer of Calgary, AB, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
Eleanor was born on the Kotelko family farm near Hafford, SK, on July 9, 1940. She lived in Saskatoon, SK, Medicine Hat, AB, and Medan, Indonesia, before moving to Calgary in 1989 to be near her children. She enjoyed a career in professional administration at Mount Royal University for many years before retiring. Retirement afforded her the opportunity to indulge in hobbies such as working on puzzles, gardening, playing cards, reading, and enjoying quality time with her family. She also remained an avid supporter of her beloved Edmonton Oilers hockey team. Eleanor loved simple family gatherings and truly enjoyed relaxing at the lake. At home, she was a fantastic cook and a warm, gracious hostess. She will be fondly remembered for her sincere kindness and heartfelt compassion for both people and animals.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Lisa (Jeff) Glover, Camille Rae, and Jason (Karen) Katchmer; and her grandchildren, Maxwell, Sebastian, Annie, Aaron, and Justin. She is also survived by her sisters, Vera Fobel and Nancy (Ed) Bobick.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Katherine Kotelko; her brother Mike Kotelko, and her brother-in-law Edwin Fobel.

RICHARD GROPP 1959 ~ 2024 With great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Wallace Gropp, (Rico/Ric) of Medicine Hat, on Friday, March 29th, 2024 at the age of 64 years. This came after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Swift Current, raised in Webb and later moving to Medicine Hat for his high school years. Ric was always surrounded by a solid group of friends. Ric worked as a carpenter all his life. He took great pride in always doing the job right. Ric was predeceased by his loving parents, Wallace (Wally) and Helen Gropp; nephew, Todd Smyth. Ric leaves to cherish his memory his much-loved Tammy Regner and her family; brother, Dave (Jacquie); sisters, Carol (Doug) and Diane (Brian); nephews, Scott (Heidi) and Shaun (Cheryl); nieces, Lauri Ann (Jason) and Heather (Dan); as well as great nephews and nieces, Josh, Wyatt, Andrew, Shaylin, Paige and Casey. A Graveside Service will be held at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery, 5160 Gershaw Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. DANNY DELISLE 1963 – 2024 Dianne (Danny) Gail Delisle of Medicine Hat formerly of Edmonton, Alberta, born on February 20, 1963 and passed away on March 10, 2024. Danny will be remembered by their sisters Wendy White (Don Pfeifle), Debbie (Wilf) Adair. DIANE ZILKIE
DIANE ZILKIE February 14, 1953 – March 30, 2024 The family of Diane Zilkie wish to announce her passing at the age of 71. She is survived by her loving family; son, Shawn (Robyn) Lewis and grandchildren, Xavier, Nolan and Mira; son, Dean (Kathleen) Lewis and grandchildren Evan, Megan and Cassie; daughter, Jody (Mike) and grandchildren, Daria, Marlea, Zoey and Bailey.
Diane will also be missed by her siblings; sister, Donna (Alan) Stockman; her brothers, Dan (Nora) Zilkie and Dave (Jackie) Zilkie along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended families. She is predeceased by her parents, Roy and Mae Zilkie.
The family would love for Diane to be remembered for the fantastic person she was, her ability to instantly make others feel welcome, and most importantly as a woman who sacrificed and worked exceptionally hard to provide the very best life for her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly but would want everyone to continue to “Live, Love, Laugh”.
