SANDY MORRICE May 20, 1939 ~ July 15, 2023
George Alexander ‘Sandy’ Morrice passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the age of 84 years. Sandy was born in Medicine Hat where he resided his entire life. He married Annie (nee Bockman) on September 19, 1959, and together they raised their two sons, Ken and Mike. Over the years, Sandy was involved and volunteered in many clubs and organizations. Some of these included the Knights of Columbus and the Medicine Hat Stock Car Association; he and Annie even travelled to Australia with the Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Association. Everyone who knew Sandy also knew of his love for hockey. He volunteered for the Medicine Hat Cubs, Hockey Hounds and proudly wore his “Peg Leg” jersey to every Medicine Hat Tigers game. Sandy loved his early morning coffee with his friends at A & W, travelling, and in his later years he even learned how to sew, mending all the Cubs jersey’s and socks. Sandy is survived by his oldest son, Ken; daughter-in-law, Bonnie; grandchildren, Stevie and Reid as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Annie in 2012; son, Mike in 2019; son in infancy, Johnny; parents, Harry and Leah as well as his oldest brother, Darcy.
