DENISE ARMSTRONG
DENISE ARMSTRONG June 16, 1960 ~ June 17, 2023
It is with broken hearts that family announce the passing of their sweet Denise Marie Armstrong (nee Risk). With family by her side, she went to meet her husband, Mark to be together again. Denise was feisty, strong and amazingly sarcastic, but also the kindest, give anything to anyone lady! She had the best quirky style, but it suited her as she definitely was one of a kind. Mark’s unexpected passing last December broke her heart. She was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer last August and family witnessed how strong their dear Denise really was. She had a lot of nicknames for many of her loved ones, never calling them by their true name, and they stuck. She had a strong friendship with her mom which included being the best bingo and thrifting partners! Denise was a single mom with her first born, Darrell, when she met Mark out at the army base in Suffield. They ended up falling in love and getting married! Soon after, they welcomed a baby girl, Nikita into the world. Left behind to cherish her memories are her son, Darrell Armstrong (Niki) and his son, Jordan Humbert; her daughter, Nikita Armstrong and her two children, Ryan and Nova; her Mom and Dad, Bernadette and Peter Risk; big brother, Darrell Risk and Denise’s favourite sister-in-law, Laurie; middle sister, Darlene Banks and her husband, who Denise lovingly called Baxter (Penny); brothers, Dan Risk and Darcy Risk and little sissy, Dela Wandler and her husband, who Denise lovingly called Quentin (Floyd). Denise will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews who called her Auntie Bad (and there was a reason for this), as well as her many wonderful friends she has made through the years. Denise won the battle. It wasn’t lost as she made sure she did what she needed to do before meeting up with her sweetheart again in the heavens above. She will also be reunited with her sweet Nana and Gramps Risk; Grandma and Grandpa Sammon and her numerous pets that have gone before her. Denise’s family knows she’s eating Licorice Allsorts and cookies with milk. We also know there’s bingo in heaven or you wouldn’t have went. “We love you MORE xo… see you in the funny papers” A private time of remembrance will be held. DENNIS HERMAN
~ DENNIS HERMAN ~
The winds howled as family and friends put their fields on hold to gather together at the Carriage House this past Monday. In heartfelt tributes to their father, Ryan and Todd spoke of a man that was very proud of his family and the legacy he leaves behind.
I believe when a man grows old and sums up his days, he should be able to stand tall and feel pride in the life he’s lived. I believe in farming because it makes it all possible.
