JOHN JAMES ROMBOUGH

John James Rombough, (77), of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on May 6, 2023, at Foothills Hospital.
John, was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on March 29, 1946. He was the loving son of Francis and Grace Rombough. John was a lover of the outdoors and a very hard worker, he was not afraid to tackle any job. He loved hunting, fishing, collecting rocks and spending time in the yard. He loved helping friends. Many hours were spent helping fellow policemen on their ranch doing cattle drives, brandings, and riding horses. He was a supportive and loving father and participated in many events with the Medicine Hat 4-H Light Horse Club and was found most weekends at local horse shows and rodeos. He could fix anything, often his daughters leaned on him for advice, support and knowledge.
John first started working at the Toronto Dominion Bank of Canada in Medicine Hat, where he was recruited by the Medicine Hat Police Service for his stature and physical presence. John joined the Medicine Hat Police department and spent 28 years serving the Community of Medicine Hat. He loved his job and was a very compassionate person. He had many good police friends that shared many memories both on and off the job. Upon his retirement, he spent years running his own Private Investigation company. John loved watching his Grandchildren play hockey and was fortunate enough to be able to attend many hockey games all the way from Timbits to the WHL. John aka Papa loved hockey and his Grandchildren followed in his footsteps. He would be proud to know his Grandson Ryker was drafted into the NHL and I am sure Papa will be there watching and guiding the rest of the Grandkids hockey endeavors.
John is survived by his oldest daughter, Tracy (Guy) Deschamps and children Madison Natalie and Colton John. He is also survived by his middle daughter Lisa (Mike) Evans and children Ryker Garth and Payten Arlene and youngest daughter Grace (Lee) Clayton and children Sheresa Antonia and Elizabeth Grace. John is predeceased by his parents Francis and Grace Rombough. He is survived by his sister Sally (Dale) Chant and brother Grant (Elsie) Rombough and nieces Karen, Sarah, Holly, and nephew Mason. John loved his family dearly and spent many years keeping the family traditions alive.
In 2018 John moved to Cochrane to spend the last 5 years of his life surrounded by his daughters and their families. It was a memorable time, Tracy and Lisa were fortunate to spend this time with him.
‘It is not good-bye, it is see you later.’
A private family ceremony will be held in the summer. Please send any stories or condolences to: john.rombough1946@gmail.com

There wasn’t a dry eye that could be seen as many heartfelt tributes captured life moments recognizing a lady who’s heart of gold that will be forever missed!

I hope that I see the world
as you did ’cause you know,
A life with love
is a life that’s been lived!

Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.
