KENNETH DRESSLER

KENNETH DRESSLER 1946 ~ 2023 Kenneth Harvey Dressler passed away with his loving wife Sharon by his side at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 76 years. Ken was born in Russell, Manitoba on September 6, 1946. He is survived by his devoted spouse of 52 years, Sharon; son, Daren (Sara) Dressler; daughter, Lisa Dressler (David Stroh); grandchildren, Alexis (Matt) Sutherland and their daughter and Ken’s first-great grandchild, Emilia; Olivia, Riley, Emily, Nicholas and McKayla. He is also survived by three brothers, Lorne Dressler, Reginald (Doris) Dressler and Bruce Dressler; sister, Patricia (Norman) Gerestein; sisters-in-law, Edna (Ed) Banman, Brenda (Randy) Koehn along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Margaret Dressler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Iver and Pauline Hagen along with numerous aunts and uncles. A celebration honouring Ken’s life will be held at Yorkton Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Rick Gibson officiating. JIM ANDREWS

JIM ANDREWS January 4, 1944 ~ April 23, 2023 The hearts of the family of Mr. James ‘Jim’ Leslie Andrews are broken; they are saddened to announce his passing. Jim passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the age of 79 years. Along with his loving wife, Ellen, left to remember him are his children, Crissy (Greg) of Edmonton and Jake (Kim) of Calgary; grandchildren, Ethan, Cooper and Frankie; sister, Betty Aman of Medicine Hat as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Edith Andrews as well as his brother, Bill Jr. Jim was born on January 4, 1944, to Bill and Edith Andrews in Bird’s Hill, MB. He was the middle sibling of three and was raised working and playing outdoors. Jim loved animals, especially dogs and horses. Jim would have rather been hunting than sitting in school. He married his best friend, Ellen Kruger, on October 1, 1966, in Winnipeg, and they shared 56 wonderful years together. Jim explored several careers over the years from engineering to upholstery, farming to real estate, but he spent many years as a sales representative for flooring distributors. He loved the outdoors: walking, fishing, golfing, hunting, and especially sitting on the deck and enjoying a drink. His favourite times were spent in the company of his family and friends engaged in all sorts of activities. He was a loyal, loving, and kind-hearted husband, father, grandfather and friend whose presence will be deeply missed. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship will be held in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. FRANCES J (JACKIE) SMITH

FRANCES J (JACKIE) SMITH December 6, 1940 April 23, 2023 It is with great sadness that the family of Jackie Smith announce her passing on Sunday, April 23, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jackie was predeceased by her parents; brother, Robert; sister, Patricia; grand daughter-in-law, Kayleigh; son, Dale; and daughter, Michelle.
Jackie enjoyed community volunteering and camping throughout Western Canada. The highlight of her summers were time spent at their cabin in Saskatchewan and later wintering in Yuma, Arizona.
She leaves to mourn, Ron Smith, her husband of 64 years; grandson, Gregory Brooks and family; grandson, Dustin Smith (Jocelyn and Daniel); grandson, Brandon Smith (Rylee and Ryder); brother, Oliver Dailey; and sister-in-law Marilyn Dailey.
At her request, there will be no formal service as she chose to be cremated. The family would like to thank Dr. A. Hrdlicka, Home Care staff, and staff at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice for their competent care and compassion shown to Jackie.
