GAUB, JAMES “JIM” LAWRENCE

GAUB, JAMES “JIM” LAWRENCE March 8, 1942 April 3, 2023 Jim Gaub of High River, Alberta, passed away at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks on April 3, 2023, at the age of 81 years.
Jim was born in Medicine Hat, and as a young man, he worked on heavy equipment in Elkwater. In 1964, he met and married his soul mate, a young British woman. Jim is survived by his wife and loving companion, Paula; son James Gaub (Pat); daughter Terri Holowath (Bart); granddaughter Tyla Gaub; and grandsons Remington Holowath and Colt Holowath. Jim was predeceased by his brother Randy and parents Edith and Gottlieb Gaub.
In 1970, Jim took a job with the Agriculture Canada Research Station at Onefour, Alberta, where he worked for 30 years as a mechanic and ranch maintenance worker. Jim and Paula enjoyed the Onefour and Manyberries area and supported many dine-and-dances, curling, and community events. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed carpentry, building furniture for family and friends, fixing up old vehicles, and camping.
In 2001, Jim and Paula retired to High River and loved their new community just as much as they had Onefour. Dancing continued at the High River Legion, and they enjoyed activities such as golf, bowling, and evening cards with friends. Jim always stayed busy, and his maintenance and mechanic skills continued with many projects on Bart & Terri’s farm near Cayley.

LILLIAN JOYCE PAHL July 22, 1935 – April 1, 2023 It is with tremendous sadness and love that we say goodbye to our wonderful mother and grandmother Lillian Joyce Pahl, on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the age of 87 years, beloved wife of the late Stanley Pahl. ERICH KOENIG


ERICH KOENIG 1932 ~ 2023 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Erich Koenig announce the loss of a most loved and cherished man on March 30, 2023 at the age of 90 years. Erich was born July 17, 1932, in Ostrowite, Poland to Ludwig and Ida Koenig. In 1949, he was in Germany for a short time and then immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Redcliff. In 1960, he married Hildegard Schüle, built their home, and raised their family in Redcliff. Erich worked for more than 45 years at the Redcliff Pressed Brick retiring as their maintenance man repairing the presses and modifying the presses for the different sizes and styles of bricks. For 65 years, he was a proud resident of Redcliff until ill health prompted a move to The Good Samaritan Society in Medicine Hat. Erich is predeceased by his wife, Hildegard (almost 57 years of marriage); his parents, Ludwig and Ida; his three sisters, Amanda, Lydia, and Olga; and his two brothers, Fritz and Edwin. Left to mourn his passing is his daughter, Christina; his two sons, Harold (Laura) and Michael and his one and only very special grandson, Brennan. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the columbarium in the Redcliff Cemetery on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Don Scott will officiate. If you are unable to come to the cemetery, please feel free to go to the Redcliff Legion where the family will join you following the interment service.
