BENSONWITHGREATSORROWANDSADNESS

BENSON With great sorrow and sadness, the Benson families announce the passing of our beloved dad, brother, grandfather, uncle, and nephew, Kenneth John Benson of Lethbridge, Alberta, at 71 years old. Ken shared many nicknames by all that enjoyed his company and his famous one-liners; ‘Pappy,’ “The Colonel,’ and ‘Kenny B’ was known for being a good neighbour to all and always quick to help someone in need; a simple man who enjoyed simple pleasures, his favourite being sharing a cold beer and a few laughs after a hard days work either outside or in his garage MacGyver-ing things. Ken, a cowboy at heart and talented plumber by trade, knew that a good life consisted of working hard and saving for a rainy day. Ken leaves behind his daughter Trena Benson and her family, son Kyle Benson; his twin brother Keith Benson and his family; his youngest brother Mark Benson and his family; Brian Sayer and his family; Auntie Elma and her family, and Aunt Francis and her family. While we all feel it was not yet time for him to go, he was surrounded by those who loved him and would likely tell us not to mourn but rather, ‘go where you are looking and look where you are going’- Clint Eastwood. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 2:00 PM from the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre, Brooks. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Interment at Brooks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 100 – 119 14 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6.
